Heather believes counselling plays a key role in helping people to explore the difficulties and concerns they face in life. She is passionate about supporting people, helping them to develop resourceful and satisfying ways of living. Heather draws upon a variety of abilities, skills and experience in working with clients with a wide range of issues. These include anger issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, relationship issues, behaviour issues, self worth, chronic pain and parenting challenges.
Heather is an educator, parent coach, supervisor and counsellor and has over 35 years experience in working with people and their families. Heather works with the following therapeutic models; cognitive behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and solution focused therapy. Heather also specialises in attachment & family relationship issues. Heather is trained as a professional supervisor in the workplace. working alongside counsellors and therapists. Heather works from a strength based perspective and holds the belief that the client is the expert about themselves, and counselling is a collaborative relationship, which supports the growth of the client.
